Faces of Racial Profiling: A Report from Communities Across America

Washington DC -- September 27, 2010 – Today, Rights Working Group and local partners nationwide released a report demonstrating the need to address racial, ethnic, religious and national origin profiling (“racial profiling”) across the country and finding that the patchwork of laws dealing with racial profiling is too burdensome for victims of profiling to navigate.

Early victory in battle over SB 1070

Judge Bolton granted the Obama Administration an early victory in its bid to overturn Arizona's problematic law SB 1070, which would have required police to inquire about the immigration status of every person they stopped.  Rights Working Group (RWG) views SB 1070 as a recipe for racial profiling and other human rights violations, and welcomes the partial injunction issued by Judge Bolton.
