Aadika Singh is the policy associate for the Rights Working Group. Previously serving in the Human Rights Program of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Aadika researched domestic human rights violations related to national security programs and immigrants' rights. She supported advocacy around the ACLU's monitoring of the proceedings at the Guantanamo military commissions, advocacy at international fora around U.S. human rights abuses and impact litigation including David, et al. v. Signal International, LLC, et al., a case filed on behalf of more than 500 Indian men trafficked into the United States and forced into involuntary servitude. Prior to joining the ACLU, she was a project coordinator at Blacksmith Institute, a non-governmental organization focused on remediating polluted sites in the developing world, and an editorial assistant at Earth Island Journal. Voluntarily, Ms. Singh initiated and directed an Arabic/English language learning and conversation exchange program servicing recent Arab immigrants through the Brooklyn-based Arab-American Family Support Center. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester and co-founded and now steers the University of Rochester Alumni for Social Responsibility.
