Racial Profiling: Face the Truth Endorsement Form
Several national organizations have identified racial profiling as a priority concern to be addressed by the Obama Administration, at the same time that a growing number of community-based groups are struggling with different forms of profiling at the local level. The Campaign brings these diverse voices to the same table to work collaboratively for reform. Building on the historical knowledge and expertise of traditionally-affected communities who developed and honed a range of tactics in response to racial profiling in the "war on drugs," the campaign works collaboratively with the DC-based legislative table led by the NAACP, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, and the ACLU, while mobilizing grassroots and community organizations from around the country to support the campaign. More than thirty-five member organizations and allies around the country contributed to developing the Campaign's goals, objectives and principles.
The campaign will build alliances among directly-affected communities, coordinate advocacy efforts and field activities, and educate and mobilize broad support for legislative and policy reforms. Organizations endorsing the campaign are endorsing the Campaign's goals, objectives, and principles.
